On January 13, 2015 Windows 7 moved from mainstream support to extended support. Microsoft will continue to provide security updates until the 14th January 2020. The end of main stream support means that Microsoft will not be releasing any new features and the only support available will come at a price.
Windows 10, the next Enterprise oriented version of Windows, is intended to be released in the second half of 2015, and there is a Windows 10 announcement being delivered on the 21st January 2015 to give a heads up on what Microsoft are planning for their Enterprise OS.
